Margaret Skrmetti
Margaret is an accomplished corporate social responsibility leader, relationship builder, and cause-driven communicator. Her experience in public relations and the nonprofit sector informs her current work defining and shaping a new purpose-driven agenda for a portfolio of iconic brands as the community engagement and social impact leader for Morton Salt and its affiliate companies across North and South America. Her responsibilities include corporate philanthropy, cause marketing, volunteer programs, and employee engagement.
Prior to joining Morton Salt, Margaret spent nearly seven years developing corporate partnership and sponsorship programs for some of the nation’s leading cultural and research institutions, including Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts and The Field Museum in Chicago. She began her career at RF|Binder Partners, an integrated communications and consulting firm, where she represented clients in financial services, retail, and technology.
Margaret is rising member of the Baumhart Scholars MBA program at Loyola University Chicago, a highly selective, cohort-based MBA that equips professionals with the skills, values, and networks to marry profit and purpose in their careers. She is also a working parent and mother to Cecilia, and is excited to teach her daughter that no dream is out of reach.
Margaret holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication with a concentration in Public Relations from Boston University.
Liz Okey
Elizabeth Okey is the Community Impact Manager at Wintrust Financial Corporation. She has more than 10 years of experience in social impact, business and stakeholder engagement and communications. At Wintrust she specializes in employee engagement, thought leadership and community relations.
Most recently, Elizabeth worked for Burson-Marsteller consulting corporate clients on corporate responsibility initiatives and communications needs including signature programs, corporate responsibility reports and internal and external communications.
Prior to Burson, Elizabeth spent more than seven years in the Chicago non-profit sector, specializing in program development, corporate stewardship, fundraising and community engagement. Elizabeth earned a Master’s of Business Administration in Social Innovation and Leadership from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development and Social Relations from Kalamazoo College. Elizabeth serves on the Advisory Board for the Women’s Football Alliance and the Executive Board of Directors for USA Football.
